LOSTPROPHETS TO PLAY MILLENNIUM STADIUM!

Lostprophets will take centre stage in Cardiff this summer – performing to a packed Millennium Stadium ahead of Wales v South Africa on Saturday 5 June.

The band will add their voices to the thousands of fans in support of Warren Gatland’s Wales at the 74,500 capacity national stadium when they take on the World Champions in the Principality Building Society Summer Test.

The band’s guitarist, and huge rugby fan, Mike Lewis said: “We’re very honoured to be asked by the WRU and the Welsh team to play before the South Africa match. I grew up playing and watching rugby and it means the world to be the first band to be invited to play before an international match at the Millennium Stadium.

“I was at the Stadium the last time Wales played South Africa and we came so close to beating them hopefully this time we can do it. We’ll do our best to get the crowd fired up before the boys come out and do the business!”

The band are set to perform three songs ahead of Wales’ sizzling summer clash with the Springboks and have promised to include ‘Where We Belong‘.

“‘Where We Belong’ seems to have become a favourite at games recently. Wales was definitely in our hearts’ and minds’ when we wrote that song so for it to have been embraced by the national team is a great honour,” Mike said.

Tickets for the Principality Building Society Summer Test (which includes the exclusive performance from Lostprophets) are currently on public sale priced from £25 at the WRU’s Cardiff Arms Store (No 8 Westgate Street, Cardiff); via Ticketmaster (tel 08442 777888, http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk), Ticketline (02920 230130, www.ticketlineuk.com) and via the WRU Official Website www.wru.co.uk/tickets.

Lostprophets – full length ‘Felon’ video edit on YouTube!

The new video edit for For He’s A Jolly Good Felon is an extended mini film with a storyline and characters, and is over 7 minutes long!

All of the characters in the film are raw and real – with Simon (Sie Haworth), the main character, being literally plucked from the street to be in the production, coming from a background of street fighting, boxing and gangster lifestyles… the tattoos and stab wounds he sports in the videos are one hundred per cent real.

Alan Forward (Brick Top from Snatch) also appears as a cameo of a gang boss… but ad libbed his brutal speeches as opposed to being tightly scripted.

Alan says: “When I was invited to take part in the filming of For He’s a Jolly Good Felon, I had never heard of the Welsh band Lostprophets. I contacted my Welsh nephew, a musician himself who told me all about the band, how Wales is very proud of them and how their releases and touring has made them big on the international stage. This made me feel very flattered to know that they are fans of mine.

The filming was tough. It was a hard and fast shoot on a fiercely cold day, close to the canal in north London . All in all, I am delighted to be part of the project.”

NEW SINGLE: ‘It’s Not The End Of The World, But I Can See It From Here‘ OUT NOW!

16th of the Charts!

After several sold out shows in the last couple of months, including electrifying performances headlining the Radio 1/NME Stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals and a Q Awards show at the Forum, LOSTPROPHETS have announced a UK tour for next year.   The band release their fourth album ‘The Betrayed’ on 18th January 2010 which includes the top 20 single ‘It’s Not The End of The World, But I Can See It From Here’.

The band who consist of guitarist Mike Lewis, frontman Ian Watkins, Lee Gaze (guitar), Stuart Richardson (bass), Jamie Oliver (keyboards, programming) and new drummer Luke Johnson will also return in  November for a couple of shows including their debut appearance at the Little Noise Sessions.  These gigs are held every year in the Union Chapel In London and curated DJ Jo Whiley with acts as diverse as Editors, Alexandra Burke and Taio Cruz all set to appear this year.  A very special show with a few surprises is planned.

‘The Betrayed’ was recorded in several locations and studios in Los Angeles, with a few false starts where the band scrapped various recordings with different producers.  Eventually, a trip back to their native Wales and original rehearsal rooms in Cardiff saw the group re-invigorated and energised and on their return to the US things came together quickly.  Bassist Stuart Richardson took on production and mixing duties (alongside Justin Hopfer with whom he’d previously worked with on Welsh rock act Attack Attack) for the first time and the band have created their most ambitious and accomplished album to date.
